roldaver Allen Levi is an amazing story teller. Rivertown is the story of his home area. Levi weaves local history and culture and infuses hope and joy. My favorite song on the album is Angel of Mercy about a woman, Mother Harris, who leaves a legacy of love for her river-town. Levi introduces each song and his choice of words like describing Harris as having a “Grandmother’s voice”add gracefully to the picture he is painting. If you like Rivertown , I highly recommend Levi’s first novel Theo of Golden. Favorite track: Angel of Mercy.

Allen studied law and English at the University of Georgia, and Scottish literature at the University of Edinburgh. He practiced law in Columbus, Georgia for thirteen years before becoming a full-time singer songwriter in 1996.
